AZENTO HEALTH FRAMEWORK

Better Weight Loss

GLP-1 and next-generation obesity medicines have transformed what is possible. The next frontier is increasingly about the quality of the outcome and the experience around it.

The scale is not the only measure of success.

Modern obesity science increasingly recognises that treatment success cannot always be described by percentage body-weight loss alone. The 2026 Endocrine Society scientific statement highlights health, function and patient-reported outcomes as part of a broader view of treatment success.

In the 2025 joint advisory “Nutritional priorities to support GLP-1 therapy for obesity”, the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the American Society for Nutrition, the Obesity Medicine Association, and The Obesity Society highlight several key challenges during GLP-1 therapy: gastrointestinal side effects, reduced calorie intake, risk of nutrient inadequacy, loss of muscle and bone mass, treatment discontinuation and weight regain.

The advisory concludes that structured nutrition and lifestyle support before, during and after treatment is central to helping clinicians advance patient health.

INSIGHT

Weight loss changes more than weight.

As modern obesity treatments reshape appetite, eating habits and daily life, people’s health and wellbeing needs evolve too.

Better Weight Loss means recognising these changing needs and developing solutions that support people throughout their weight-loss journey.

A smaller appetite. More to care for.

Modern obesity medicines can reduce food intake substantially. Across clinical studies, total energy intake reductions of approximately 16–39% have been reported. That therapeutic effect is powerful. It also means important needs increasingly must be met within a smaller amount of food:

INSIGHT

Less appetite. More need for nutritional quality.

Weight loss changes the environment around the gut.

GLP-1 treatment and major weight loss can change appetite, food intake, nutrient exposure, gastrointestinal physiology and eating patterns. These changes may also affect the microbial environment.

Research increasingly points to a bidirectional relationship between the gut microbiome, microbial metabolites, metabolic signalling and GLP-1 biology. This is an emerging field rather than an established Forte80 mechanism.

INSIGHT

The microbiome is a scientific frontier within modern weight management — and a logical platform for research and product development.

From scientific insight to clinically tested solutions.

At Azento Health, we go beyond scientific theory. We translate biological insights into targeted formulations and evaluate their potential through product-specific research.

Forte80® is our first clinically studied product, demonstrating our commitment to evidence-led development. Its randomized study examined weight-loss response and physical aspects of health-related quality of life.

MICROBIOME SCIENCE

Understanding the biology behind better health.

The gut microbiome plays an important role in digestion, metabolism and overall health. Through azh-biotics®, we explore promising biological pathways, including microbial metabolites, gut–brain communication, intestinal barrier function and metabolic interactions.

Our ambition is to translate this knowledge into meaningful product innovation.

FROM SCIENCE TO SOLUTIONS

Developing products for evolving patient needs.

Building on our microbiome expertise and clinical research, Azento Health is developing a portfolio of companion products for modern weight management.

Starting with Forte80®, our development pipeline extends into nutrition, hydration, muscle and bone health, metabolic wellbeing and long-term weight maintenance.
